This article is about how large carnivores are reactive or predictive. I have read that hyenas respond reactively to risk by large carnivores. The risk of predation or interference competition can show an affect to an animals behavior. I have learned that a reactive response is based on an animals knowledge of risk. I also learned that a predictive response is based on a pre-emptive response, such as pre- knowledge.  The animals behavior responses to risk is limited to predator prey interactions. The reactive respond of cheetahs is the risk of encountering lions and spotted hyenas. To determine whether larger carnivores by cheetahs is reactive or predictive, they investigated both of the effects of encountering lions and hyenas short term risk.
